Tullibardine 1488

Tullibardine 1488 is part of a major new development which is now open. The name 1488 comes from the year when King James IV purchased beer from the old Brewery originally sited here for his coronation at Scone Palace. Ample free car parking, disabled and baby changing facilities.

Distillery Tours ~ Nosing ~ Tasting

Our Visitor Centre is open seven days a week.  Tours and tastings are be led by one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides and run frequently throughout the day. 

If you have a large party of people or wish to take a tour at a specific time and date, please contact us in advance so we are able to do our best to accommodate you and let us make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Standard Tour

Takes approximately ¾ hour and is suitable if you have never toured a distillery or want to see another one.  This includes nosing (a sensory lesson) and a taste of 2 of our single malts (over 18’s only); other tastes can be purchased for an additional cost, please ask for details or see below under ‘Tullibardine Bar’.

Children (over 5’s) are welcome and can take part in our quiz during the tour. 

Tutored Tasting

Relax and enjoy three different expressions of The Tullibardine Single Malt Scotch Whisky.  The nosing and tasting will be held in our Tasting Room and you will be guided through each whisky step-by-step for the full whisky experience, please allow approximately ½ hour.

Bonded Tour

Whether you are a whisky enthusiast or whisky novice you would like to spend a little more time getting to know more about the skill and time that goes into the making of Tullibardine Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Chances are you have been round various distilleries and have knowledge of the process but want to get your teeth into the behind the scenes work that goes on, well this one is for you!  This tour takes approx. 1½ hours and gives you the full experience of the skill and effort that goes into creating The Tullibardine Single Malt Whisky. The tour will end in our tasting room, where you will nose and sample 3 of our Tullibardine Whiskies.  

Please note that this tour must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance, subject to availability

Connoisseur Tour
This more in-depth tour for the aficionado takes around 2 hours will take you around the distillery and into the bonded warehouse where our guide will pull a whisky (or two) straight from a cask for nosing.  Afterwards, you will be taken to the tasting room for a tutored tasting of the Tullibardine Range. 

Please note that this tour must be pre-booked at least 48 hours in advance, subject to availability  

* A non-refundable deposit of £10 per head is required for Bonded and Connoisseur Tours. 

“Tullibardine Bar”

Interested in buying a bottle?  Just fancy a wee taste?  We are here to help.  We have the full range of Tullibardine available for you to taste.  Just ask one of our members of staff and we will be more than happy to take you down to our tasting room where you can sample your whisky in style.  All our whiskies are available from £2 per dram.

Café 1488

Café 1488 (licensed) offers fabulous views of the surrounding hillside, from where the water is drawn for our Tullibardine vintages, presenting a relaxed and contemporary setting for a quick snack or cooked meal. We pride ourselves on using locally produced food and our home baking – all freshly cooked on the premises. Select from:

• A range of home baking and delicious desserts.


• Choice of 2 fresh soups (1 vegetarian) per day.


• Selection of cold or hot griddled sandwiches, made to order with your choice of filling.


• Hot Dish of the Day, served from 12 noon to 3pm daily.

The shop offers a unique selection of giftware (glass, ceramics and cosmetics), books and accessories made predominately by local producers, and a children’s section.
The full range of whisky vintages and other Tullibardine branded products are also available. All new vintages will be pre-launched in the shop.
