We are proud to be one of the only remaining independent Distilleries in Scotland. However our single malt would not be the same without the amazing team we have here at at Tullibardine. Each and every one plays a role in creating our highland single malt.
John Black was literally born into the whisky industry in 1942 as he was in fact born in a cottage in the grounds of Cardhu Distillery and boasting over 50 years in the whisky industry, he can only be described as a ‘Master Distiller’. He has literally lived and breathed this industry all of his life.
His father and grandfather also worked in Distilleries and his family roots make him part of an unbroken line of whisky heritage going back about 90 years! At Tullibardine, John is very special to us. Thanks to his experience, energy and knowledge, Tullibardine is back on the whisky map. He really is the heart and soul of the distillery, keeping the whole team going.
David Myles first set foot on Tullibardine Distillery before it was even an independent, as part of his training for another Distillery. However, after 14 years of working with the other Distillery he decided to return to his roots.
He joined Tullibardine in January of 2005, not long after the Distillery had started back up and running. He worked on both the mash tuns and on the stills before becoming production manager for the Distillery. A man of all trades he even fitted the steel wash backs in the Distillery! His passion for and dedication to Tullibardine really shows and he works very closely with John to ensure our Single Malt is of the highest quality possible. He really is a key member of our team!
